Many types of birds and butterflies can also be found there, as well as many endangered species, including the mountain gorilla. It was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests of virunga Mountains and its the only destination for Golden Monkey Tracking in Uganda as well as the second option for Gorilla trekking in Uganda.
